  The History of Ear Candles

Ear Candling is a natural ear cleaning technique that began centuries ago as far back as biblical times when hollow reeds from swamp areas were used. It has been passed down for many generations by the North American Indians – the Hopi Tribe. There are also records of the use of Ear Candles in earlier times by the Egyptians and the Chinese.

What Are Ear Candles?

An Ear Candle is a hollow conical tube made of unbleached fabric impregnated with a combination of special beeswax, paraffin wax and essential oils to help manage infection. Beeswax has a soothing effect and the kind of paraffin wax used has a deep cleaning effect.

What Results Can Be Expected?

This simple method assists in removing excessive wax, infections and residuals of past infections. In most cases they may improve the following conditions:
  • Sinusitis
  • Rhinitis
  • Some types of chronic headaches
  • Earaches
  • Irritation in the ears or sinuses
  • Tinnitus – Noises or ringing in the ears
  • Hearing difficulties
  • Vertigo

How Do Ear Candles Work?

Such effects are possible because all the passages in the head are interconnected, allowing the candles to drain the whole system osmotically through the membrane of the ear. It draws from the ear, the sinuses, lymph glands, dental area, etc.

During the treatment old ear wax and noxious toxins are drawn up the candle which has been lit and placed in the ear. The heat of the smoke softens the wax in the ear and the vacuum made by the burning candle draws the old wax liquids etc. out of the ear into the candle. When the candle has burnt down to three quarters of its original length and the flame has been extinguished the candle can be cut open to examine what has been drawn out of the ear. You will be truly amazed.

The Hopi Practitioner Ear Candles used are hand crafted using the finest ingredients and specially designed formulas.

The treatment usually takes about an hour and is very relaxing.
